1. Purpose of This Data License

BacktestCart may provide structured datasets, historical market data, backtest results, trade logs, research data and other quantitative resources for independent research, analysis and educational purposes.

This Data License defines the permitted use of those resources and does not transfer ownership of the underlying data, intellectual property or other proprietary rights to the purchaser unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. License Grant

Subject to payment, these terms and any product-specific restrictions, BacktestCart grants the purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased data for the purposes permitted by the applicable product description and this Data License.

The license is intended primarily for personal, informational, analytical, research and educational use unless a product expressly states that commercial use is permitted.

3. Permitted Uses

Unless a product’s specific terms state otherwise, the purchaser may generally use the purchased data for:

• Personal trading and investment research
• Historical market analysis
• Strategy development and backtesting
• Quantitative analysis
• Academic or educational research
• Internal research and analysis
• Evaluation of trading strategies and methodologies

4. Prohibited Uses

Unless expressly authorized in writing or through product-specific licensing terms, the purchaser may not:

• Resell the dataset or substantially similar copies of the dataset
• Redistribute the original files to third parties
• Upload the data to public websites or file-sharing services
• Publish the complete dataset or substantial portions of it for public access
• Give, transfer or sublicense the purchased data to another person or organization
• Use the data to create a competing data product for redistribution or sale
• Remove proprietary notices or licensing information
• Misrepresent BacktestCart data as independently collected or owned data

5. Commercial Use

Commercial use may require additional authorization depending on the product.

If you intend to use BacktestCart data within a commercial product, research service, paid subscription, investment platform, software application, client-facing service or other revenue-generating activity, contact BacktestCart before relying on the data for that purpose.

Additional licensing terms or permissions may be required for certain commercial applications.

6. Internal Business Use

Unless restricted by the applicable product terms, purchased data may be used internally by the purchaser for research, analysis, strategy development and related business activities.

Internal use does not permit the purchaser to redistribute the underlying dataset to customers, clients, subscribers or unrelated third parties.

7. Derivative Analysis & Research

Purchasers may use licensed data to perform their own calculations, statistical analysis, charts, models, backtests and research.

However, publishing or distributing substantial portions of the underlying raw dataset may constitute redistribution and is not permitted unless specifically authorized.

Where appropriate, analytical outputs should be presented in a manner that does not allow the underlying dataset to be reconstructed or substantially reproduced.

8. Backtest Results & Historical Performance

Backtest results, historical performance figures and simulated trading results are provided for research and analytical purposes.

Such results may depend on assumptions, methodology, transaction costs, liquidity, slippage, execution assumptions, data quality and other factors.

Past performance and backtested performance are not indicative of future results.

9. Data Accuracy & Availability

BacktestCart seeks to provide useful and structured market data, but data may contain errors, omissions, adjustments, corporate-action effects, missing observations or other limitations.

Market data may also differ between data vendors because of different methodologies, timestamps, adjustment procedures, corporate-action handling and data collection practices.

Users should independently validate important information before relying on it for trading, investment or other consequential decisions.

10. Third-Party Data

Some products or resources may incorporate, reference or depend upon information obtained from third-party sources or data providers.

Where third-party licensing restrictions apply, those restrictions may supplement or override the general permissions described in this Data License.

Customers are responsible for complying with applicable third-party terms where such terms apply to their use.

11. Intellectual Property

Unless expressly stated otherwise, BacktestCart retains applicable rights in its original research materials, compilations, presentation, documentation, methodology, branding and other protected materials.

A purchase provides a license to use the applicable product. It does not constitute a sale or assignment of BacktestCart’s intellectual property rights.

12. Sharing Within a Team

Individual products are generally intended for the purchaser’s permitted use.

Sharing downloaded files with colleagues, clients, contractors or other third parties may constitute redistribution unless the applicable license expressly permits such sharing.

Organizations requiring multi-user or team access should contact BacktestCart regarding appropriate licensing.

13. Security of Purchased Files

Purchasers are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect purchased files from unauthorized access, redistribution or disclosure.

Customers should not knowingly make licensed datasets publicly accessible through websites, repositories, cloud-storage links or other distribution channels.

14. License Termination

BacktestCart may terminate a license where the purchaser materially violates this Data License or applicable product terms, subject to applicable law.

Upon termination, the purchaser may be required to stop using the affected data and delete copies that are no longer authorized for use, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

15. No Investment Advice

BacktestCart data products are intended for research, analytical and educational purposes.

Purchasing or using a BacktestCart dataset does not create an advisory, fiduciary, brokerage or other professional relationship between BacktestCart and the purchaser.

Users remain responsible for their own trading, investment and financial decisions.

16. Changes to This Data License

BacktestCart may update this Data License to reflect changes in products, licensing arrangements, business practices or applicable requirements.

Product-specific licensing terms presented at the time of purchase may apply to the relevant product.
